Brief history of SEO evolvement
Black Digital Media Ltd have brought together people with strong e-marketing and e-strategy background. Search engine optimisation (SEO) is only a part of the big game of online exposure/visibility and success. But this is a foundation of the good organic rankings on the search engines.
We've been following the industry since 1998, when search engine placement and optimisation (seo) was a matter of simple basics. At that time search engines were guided by the webmasters themselves and early versions of search algorithms relied on webmaster-provided information like meta tags. Soon many webmasters began to abuse meta tags as a vehicle for manipulating search results, often for subjects irrelevant to the actual website content, causing their pages to rank for irrelevant searches. In response, search engines developed more complex algorithms, taking into account a wider range of factors, but they still relied largely on what are today known as "on-site" factors. Examples of on-site factors include:
- Presence of keywords in the domain name.
- Presence of keywords in the site's directory and file names.
- Presence of keywords in the title tags and "heading" tags etc. etc.
But still all those factors are controllable by webmasters. Natural evolution of search engines has lead them to develop new algorithms that also take into account an off-site factors, like link popularity, links value etc.
Is SEO only about keywords?
Here, at Black Digital Media, we take into consideration all factors known to be influencing how websites are indexed. This is not only about keyword saturation and meta-tags. This is an overall complex and balance of all site on-site and off-site parameters, including:
- title, meta-tags (of course!), comment tags, alt tags, href title, h1...h5 tags;
- bolded, italic and underlined text;
- position and saturation of keywords overall and in individual components like title, description and other, picture file names, URL names and keywords in href links etc.etc.;
- relevance of title, description and meta-keywords to the body;
- Overall site content value, copywriting and internal linking structure;
- Sitemap;
- Value of inbound and outbound links;
- etc.etc.
SEO proposal by Black Digital Media
Search engines are one of the primary ways that Internet users find web sites. That's why a web site with good search engine listings may see a dramatic increase in traffic.
If all websites were built on basis of a single universal template then the SEO efforts would be straight forward simple with fixed amount of work efforts and therefore costs. But this is not a reality. The reality is that:
- Most sites are custom designed and built.
- Different sites address different subjects and industries.
- Each site requires a different level of optimisation based on a number and complexity of problems found.
Black Digital Media has worked out a service proposal that is based on the previous experience of our team and that we believe is fair and comprehensive ...
